Open Auditions for ‘The Bell Jar’

Exciting news – We’re holding our first ever open auditions for ‘The Bell Jar’. Auditions will be held at the Crescent Arts Centre on Friday 24th May between 4pm and 10pm. To book your 30min time slot please email your CV and headshot to greenroomproductions@hotmail.co.uk (Please be aware that this is a profit-share production).

Casting for:

Esther – late teens/early 20’s
Mother/Dr Nolan/Dr Quinn – late 30’s to early 50’s
Constantin/Marco/Dr Gordon – late 20’s through to 40’s

ASM Intern Position Available for ‘The Bell Jar’

Green Room Productions are currently seeking an Assistant Stage Manager Intern for their next production of ‘The Bell Jar’ at the Crescent Arts Centre.

The internship is ideal for students or young graduates who are seeking experience in theatre. It will involve taking on the role of ASM for the production. We will offer you support and advice in developing your skills needed to progress into professional theatre throughout the duration of the internship.

Duties will include:

Assisting the Stage Manager in rehearsal duties,

Sourcing props for the production,

Running backstage during performances.

Rehearsals will run from 10th June – 24th June. During this time, the candidate will need to commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week which can be negotiated with the stage manager. The candidate’s studies or employment can still take priority during this time.

The chosen candidate MUST be available for the performance hours 6pm -10pm on the 25-29th June.

Essential:

The ability to work on own initiative and as a team,

The ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks,

Proven track record of your interest in theatre,

An Enthusiastic approach to theatre.

Desirable:

Experience as a member of a previous production team,

Higher Level qualification in Drama.

Please note, this is not an employed position and is therefore un-paid. The internship has been created for students or young professionals to gain essential theatre experience with advice and guidance from Theatre professionals.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

Green Room are currently developing the script for our next production of ‘The Bell Jar’ by Sylvia Plath in association with the Crescent Arts Centre.

Performance dates are as follows …

25th-29th June @ Crescent Arts Centre, 8pm.

We will be holding open auditions for the first time for all parts to open up to a wider pool of actors!

Photography Placement

Green Room Productions are currently offering an opportunity to gain experience as a Photography Placement.

We are currently for a young and exciting photographer who is looking to gain experience for their portfolio. We are particularly interested in taking on photographers who would like to work in the performance field.

We are offering a six month atachment during which the photographer will be needed for two sessions for 6-10 productions – one for rehearsal shots and one for production shots. The placement is for the experience of working with live performers and the opportunity to gain work for a portfolio. The position is not paid, however, we would look at employing the photographer for future work if the placement has been successful.
